Women with Disabilities Victoria is a vibrant organisation of women with disabilities working for women with disabilities in Victoria.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Program Assistant to join our friendly team.

The position is at Level 1 Year 2 of the WHV EA 2007; salary is $39,304 per annum pro rata.

Hours are 30.4 hours per week (.8 FTE) to be worked over Monday to Thursday.

The position is a one-year tenure from the date of appointment and is subject to a three-month probationary period.

A police check will be required to undertake the duties in this position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program administration support

Assist with production of training materials, information packs and other printed materials:
– Production and basic design/layout of documents, including sourcing elements such as photos, advertisements and graphics
– Printing and collating materials and packs.

Assist with events and training sessions:
– Prepare equipment and printed materials
– Liaise with venues
– On-site set-up / trouble-shooting / pack-up of materials including IT equipment
– Book and organise resources such as meeting rooms, catering, interpreters, support workers, travel and accommodation

General administrative duties for the programs such as:
– Maintain contact lists and basic databases and other program record-keeping and electronic filing as required
– Answer phones, monitor voicemail and take messages
– Order stationery and other materials
– Organise postage
– Other administrative assistance as directed.

Office support

– Assist Operations staff as required with other duties.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

– Commitment to feminist principles and the rights of women with disabilities.
– Demonstrated skills and experience in the program support tasks described.
– A high level of competency in the following programs: MS Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel. Experience in MS Publisher would be highly regarded.
– Strong organisational and time management skills, including the ability to plan and schedule workload according to different programs’ demands, prioritise and meet deadlines, multi-task and work effectively under pressure.
– Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work co-operatively and supportively within a busy small team.
– Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive problem-solving approach.
– Lived experience as a woman with a disability would be highly regarded.
