Our University Advancement team is responsible for promoting the critical role of private support to Swinburne and the many opportunities to engage in the life of our institution and students and deliver on outcomes aligned with Swinburne’s 2025 plan.

An outstanding Associate Director (AD), Development position has arisen and is one of two AD roles supporting the Director, University Advancement. This position is responsible for cultivating and stewarding a portfolio of major donors, contributes to fundraising and event policy formulation as well as manages budgets and staff accordingly. The position is responsible for managing two teams; the Development team and the Advancement Events team and will work closely with the Associate Director, Alumni Engagement to ensure alignment across alumni and fundraising programs.

In consultation with the Director, University Advancement, the position will serve as an ambassador for the university, initiating, securing and developing strategic philanthropic relationships in collaboration with faculties, centres, research that deliver outcomes aligned with Swinburne’s 2025 Plan. The Associate Director, Development will work with senior staff across the University and facilitate internal networks to nurture these relationships.

 

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need to be an experienced fundraising practitioner able to cultivate and solicit six and seven figure gifts. You will also need to demonstrate the following:
Ability to professionally represent the University and match its needs and partner interests.
Demonstrated ability and experience in alumni engagement activities, including a sound knowledge of appropriate concepts, methods and practices.
