Healthy Kids Association (HKA) is a not for profit non-government health promotion charity based in Sydney. Its mission is to promote and influence healthy food choices for children. The HKA vision is: To lead in the provision of practical food and nutrition solutions for children and young adults in schools, homes and communities

About the role

With the impending retirement of the long standing CEO of HKA, the Board is seeking a replacement to continue her successful work. HKA is looking to appoint a strong leader to guide the organisation into the future. You will lead and manage the organisation using your financial acumen to diversify and grow revenue streams while maintaining our core values, viz the promotion of healthy eating for children and young adults.

You will be a collaborative leader who can create a clear and compelling view for the future. You will have the benefit of working with an intelligent and motivated board within an organisation geared for continued growth and success. You will be required to develop plans, identify resource requirements; research & network potential funding sources, establish plans and submit proposals for funding, while maintaining strong operational controls.

This will involve:
• Maintaining strong and uncompromising corporate governance
• Leading and managing successful high performing team
• Diversifying and growing sustainable revenue streams
• Leading the organisation’s stakeholder relations and communications
• Delivering on strategic, financial and service objectives
• Engaging actively with Governments

This highly respected role will require the follow essential skills and attributes:
• Demonstrated high level strategic and operational planning skills, including their implementation to deliver on agreed objectives
• Proven experience in leading, developing and motivating staff, contractors and corporate partners
• Leadership experience in financial sustainability, engaging government agencies and risk management
• Demonstrated experience and skills in financial, human resources and program/project management
• Sound financial understanding and day to day management in regard to developing annual budgets and monitoring monthly P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow performance
• Demonstrated high level negotiation and communication skills
• A strong track record in developing working partnerships with stakeholder organisations and interest groups to achieve their optimal engagement and commitment
• Displayed professionalism and high ethical standing
• A University degree and relevant experience relating to leadership, financial sustainability, operational planning, human resources, project and risk management or research analysis and methodologies

Desirable
• An appreciation of preventive health and its importance for children and young adults.
• Understanding of the workings and demands of a membership based organisation
