The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC is jointly funded by the Commonwealth Government and a large number of partners around Australia. Its vision is to be the preferred and trusted source of research and knowledge in bushfire and natural hazards by undertaking vital research to support the development of cohesive, evidence-based policies, strategies and tools to build a disaster-resilient Australia. Members are drawn from government departments, statutory authorities, higher education institutions, private companies and peak industry bodies.

In order to develop a sustainable research capability for the Australian emergency management sector, the CRC needs to broaden its long-term funding base. This newly created role, reports to the Research Director and will work closely with the CEO and Communications Manager in developing a strategic plan for growing the funding base, identifying and building partnerships, new lines of business and responding to short-term research projects, major grant and tender opportunities.

With a strong record of achievement in initiating, negotiating and successfully winning new business, your background could be in philanthropic, not-for-profit, tertiary research or consultancy environments where you have been responsible for developing and implementing business plans, responding to grants and tenders, and delivering results. Relevant business qualifications, highly developed relationship, networking, communication and presentation skills, political nous and healthy levels of motivation and integrity will guarantee your success.
