About the role

The Role

We are currently looking for a Planned Giving Director. The successful applicant will have a passion for sustainability and empathy for the not-for-profit sector and the Jewish faith.

Reporting to the National Chief Executive, this role raises funds for the JNF/KKL through wills, legacies and gifts and manages all aspects of the bequests department of the JNF. The role involves:

  • Managing the day to day operations of the bequest department
  • Undertaking promotional activities to raise awareness of the bequests department
  • Maintaining a high profile within the Jewish community
  • Managing positive relationships with solicitors including instructing during litigation
  • Overseeing the work of staff and volunteers
  • Reporting on bequests to the National CEO and Board
  • Maintaining positive relationships with clients
    • Occasional travel will be required.

      To succeed in this role you will have at least 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar role involving bequests or fundraising and be able to demonstrate a sophisticated level of strategic thinking and a sound Jewish background and knowledge.

      You will be highly organised, efficient and have a keen eye for detail. You will have the ability to prioritise your workload in order to manage deadlines and expectations, be mature and professional in your approach and with significant life experience. You will thrive on achieving desired outcomes, with the ability to handle rejection. Strong interpersonal skills are essential coupled with warm, sensitive and empathic personal presentation. You will be a good public speaker with a dedication to Zionism.

      Basic legal knowledge and established connections in the Jewish community will be highly regarded. A current drivers license will be necessary.
