About the organisation

Organisation Name : Our Watch

About the role

The Organisation

Our Watch was established by the Commonwealth and Victorian governments in 2013 to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and structures that drive violence against women and their children.

The Role

An opportunity now exists to be a part of Our Watch. The Our Watch Policy and Evaluation team is looking for an evaluator with project management expertise to contribute to our growing portfolio of work on children and young people. Evaluation is central to the organisation’s work and is a key component of our Strategic Plan. Our Watch is committed to evaluating all our initiatives, and to undertake practice that is grounded in evidence (local and international), as well as contribute to the growing pool of knowledge on primary prevention. The organisation has a number of existing and emerging project evaluations, particularly in the area of Respectful Relationships Education.

The focus of the advertised role will be on the coordination of an evaluation of the Creating a Violence-Free Future: Respectful Relationships Education in Australian Primary Schools program. Our Watch is partnering with two state governments and at least one university partner to evaluate this project, building on previous research and evaluation undertaken by Our Watch including the Respectful Relationships Education Evidence Paper (2015) and Respectful Relationships Education in Schools: the beginnings of change evaluation report (2016). In this role, you will work closely with the Our Watch evaluation team and senior content advisors, key education stakeholders, academics, and departments of education to implement the evaluation plan for the program in Queensland and Victoria.

This is a fixed term full-time position for 12 months (possible extension), job-share negotiable.
