About the role

About the Role
The Ability Links Project Assistant will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to support the activities and the strategic priorities of ALNSW program. The Project Assistant will undertake tasks supporting the planning, coordinating and the implementation of projects relating to the ALNSW program.
The current vacancy is a full time (70 hours per fortnight) 6 month contract position based in Bankstown.

Duties & Responsibilities
• Liaise and work collaboratively with SSI programs, divisions and stakeholders to ensure effective project implementation.
• Liaise with Ability Links managers to facilitate support and cooperation as required.
• Work with Ability Links managers to identify problem areas and enable prompt solutions.
• Assist and undertake successful projects using strong communication and organisational skills.
• Plan, prioritise and organise work to ensure goals and deadlines are met, especially when there are multiple projects which have competing demands and tasks.
• Work at a level of autonomy and independence in managing own workload and setting own priorities in alignment with the needs of the project.
• Assist Ability Links Operations Manager and Ability Links Project Coordinator with delegated project task and initiatives
• Negotiate directly internally, and externally where necessary, for establishment and delivery of corporate facilities and materials
• Organise and maintain administrative records
• Scope, collate and summarise information to assist with meetings, events and other activities
• Communicate effectively and develop strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Develop an intimate understanding of the Program goals and the actual and potential range of activities
• Develop a good understanding of SSI organisational systems and culture
• Assist the Ability Links Project Operations Manager, Ability Links Project Coordinator and Executive Manager to meet Partner obligations in relation to whole of Program responsibilities
• Assist the Ability Links Project Operations Manager and Ability Links Project Coordinator with analysis of financial reports
• Monitor data systems and quality to ensure that appropriate statistical data is collected and reliable for reporting and evaluation purposes
• Work collaboratively with Partner organisations and Ability Links teams towards the objectives of the Ability Links Program.

Selection Criteria

Essential
• Relevant experience or qualifications in business administration or related fields
• Proven ability to be flexible, pro-active, use initiative and manage a variety of tasks
• Manage multiple and competing priorities to achieve tasks within deadlines
• Experience in budget analysis and reporting
• Experience in working in project teams
• Data analysis, compiling project and status reports
• Analysis and interpretation of data to develop strategies and recommendations

Desirable
• Experience in a human services and not-for-profit environment and in working with externally funded programs
• Experience in the disability sector and an understanding of the benefits of involving people with a disability in the mainstream community
• Demonstrated ability to ensure cultural considerations of the needs of people and families from CALD communities in service access and delivery
