CDS has delivered a range of disability services to the NT community for over forty years including early intervention, supported living, lifestyle options and respite services. CDS is a values-based organisation that takes as its focus the needs of each client.

CDS has been integral in leading the industry in the NT to a more collaborative approach among community services providers to deliver more flexible, person-centred services.

 

About the role


The Role:

Working with the Board, the CEO will lead CDS to realise the purpose and vision of the organisation to ensure that the organisation:

  • will be the NT NDIS provider of choice with a secure future through growth and sustainability of services
  • is an employer of choice and demonstrates CDS core values
  • proactively manages financial and operational risk through effective governance
  • builds its identity and strengthens its profile and communication with the clients, parents, guardians, partners, stakeholders and wider community
  • maintains Quality Assurance accreditation
  • engages with community to remain abreast of community sector issues
  • actively seeks opportunities to expand service delivery within agreed strategic direction
  • collaborates with relevant agencies to engage in research and development of services

 

The Opportunity for You:

    CDS is an innovative service provider and working closely with higher education institutions it has developed leading edge, evidenced based support models.The internal NDIS infrastructure is already in place for the transition of services across 2017 and 2018.State and federal government investment in the $30M redevelopment of the Tiwi Campus into a multi-service provider hub and building has already commenced.

Required Skills and Characteristics:

  • A strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
  • An extensive understanding of disability service provision and related systems.
  • Excellent governance knowledge and demonstrated experience working with a not-for-profit board. Demonstrated experience in the leadership of a large workforce.
  • Proven experience and ability in change management and the management of complex business environments involving many stakeholders.
  • Superior level of communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain strategic working relationships with staff and all key stakeholders.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in building business and/or community teams.
  • Understanding of the unique culture of Northern Territory including the diversity of cultures within rural, remote and urban communities which make up this region.

 

Other requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and professional career which demonstrated minimum of 5 years achievement at senior management/CEO level.
  • Some regular out of hours work will be required.
  • Some intra and interstate travel will be required.

 

The role is based in Darwin, NT
