Our Client, the Maitland Benevolent Society, operates the historic, not for profit Aged Care facility Benhome, which was first established in 1867, and located in beautiful Maitland in the Hunter Valley. With an exciting new expansion and redevelopment project currently underway with an expected completion date of late 2017, will see the facility increase in capacity to 124 residential beds, as well as providing home care services. With the deregulation of home care services early 2017, Benhome will be extending its lifestyle and service options to include providing registered nurse and home support services.

  • Located in Maitland in the beautiful Hunter Valley (NSW)Due to the pending retirement of the incumbent and with the Aged Care sector undergoing significant change, we are looking for a CEO who is a strategic thinker, with clear and articulate management, human resource management, business planning, and financial skills. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an empathetic, dedicated and committed Aged Care professional to work with the Management Team and Board of Directors to lead the organisation towards a sustainable future during its expansion and redevelopment strategies. The organisation is a company limited by guarantee, has a strong community support base and is governed by an independent Board of Directors.The ideal candidate will have:
    • Exceptional understanding of client, workforce and stakeholder needs and the capability to drive the necessary change to best meet those needs
    • detailed understanding of the sources of funding for the aged care sector
    • Substantial experience in leading an aged care organisation
    • Strong advocacy, networking and partnership building skills with demonstrated capacity to work effectively with a diverse range of people, community groups and government agencies
    • Demonstrated ability to increase the commercial value of the business streams in an environment of change

    We are looking for a highly organised, excellent people manager & communicator who thrives in a busy, changing environment. The successful candidate will build key relationships with other community organisations, peak bodies, NSW and Commonwealth Government Officials, quality standards agencies, suppliers, contractors and the community. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the aged care reform process combined with a demonstrated knowledge of the needs and issues faced by individuals who are ageing.

    This role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to lead the organisation through this exciting expansion phase whilst strategically planning for future growth in a range of related areas.

    An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with the high level of competency sought.

    The successful candidate must be able to satisfy the criteria for approval as “Key Personnel” by the Dept. of Health & Ageing & therefore will be required to undergo rigorous approval processes.
