Entertainment Assist is a national health promotion charity that raises awareness about mental health and wellbeing in the Australian entertainment industry and advocates for generational change where: • Industry workers are educated to be aware of their own mental wellbeing, • Industry workers are educated to support their peers around mental health; and • Industry employers actively support the mental health and wellbeing of employees. Entertainment Assist is committed to reducing the shockingly high rates of anxiety, depression, suicide, isolation and other matters associated with working in the Australian entertainment industry.

About the role

This is a Contract for Service role working over 16 hours/week.
Fixed Term Contract to Dec 2018 – potential to be ongoing subject to funding
Contract Fee: $60/hr

Entertainment Assist is a national health promotion charity committed to reducing the shockingly high rates of anxiety, depression, suicide, isolation and other matters associated with working in the Australian entertainment industry. Entertainment Assist is undergoing an exciting period of growth and is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Development Manager to work closely with the General Manager and Chairman.

The successful applicant will create and manage a development program in support of Entertainment Assist’s priorities and have:
• At least five years’ experience in a development, sponsorship and/or fundraising role
• Experience of successfully managing relationships with partners, and confidence in dealing with people at all levels
• Experience in the preparation of successful grant applications
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet tight deadlines within a busy environment
• Experience coordinating or delivering high quality stakeholder events
• Excellent communication skills and an ability to negotiate

Desirable attributes include:
• Interest in, and knowledge of, the Performing Arts
• Experience working in the not-for-profit sector
• An understanding of issues pertaining to mental health and mental illness.
