About the organisation
Helping out your mates has been a huge part of rugby league since its inception, it was on this premise that the Men of League Foundation was formed back in 2002.
The Foundation supports the men, women and children of the rugby league community by celebrating the game’s history and raising funds for those in need.
Assistance is offered in many different ways, with support services ranging from visits to those who may be feeling socially isolated, to household improvements and financial support via eligibility criteria.
About the role
QLD Events Manager
We are seeking a full time QLD Events Manager to join our Not For Profit organisation working from our office located in Rugby League Central QLD (RLCQ, 83 Castlemaine St Milton. The position will suit someone with an interest in fundraising in the Not For Profit sector and the rugby league community.
Tasks
QLD Events Manager will be responsible for all QLD committee events and required to assist our 14 volunteer committees around the state. As an active team member you will strive to develop growth strategies in accordance with the Men of League Foundation Strategic Plan 2017-2021.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and plan all aspects of QLD events from conception to completion, with a strong focus on celebrating the rich history of rugby league, whilst raising fund for the men, women and children of the rugby league community. QLD events include
- Annual lunch and corporate golf day
- Partnership events
- Peer to peer,third party and joint venture fundraising events
Duties include planning, delivery and management of all event aspects, including theming, memorabilia and budget reconciliations.
Along with providing event guidance to our 14 volunteer committees around the state, events include
- Kick-off Clubs (fellowship)
- Sportsmen’s lunches and dinners
- Trivia, golf and bowls days
Event budgets and accounting requirements
- Forecast event budgets
- Reconciliation of events
- Reporting on all aspects as required
Manage QLD activities within national fundraising and awareness campaign
Work closely with our contracted marketing team to deliver event and sponsorship activation
Manage the QLD memorabilia requirements Assist State Manager to deliver National and State objectives
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Experience in events
- Customer and personal service related experience
- Understanding and interest in rugby league
- Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated capacity to multi-task
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Previous experience in a Not For Profit organisation
- Leadership skills
- Intermediate to advanced IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience working with volunteers
- Flexible working hours and current driver’s licenses
