About the role

An opportunity exists to be a part of Our Watch, established by the Commonwealth and Victorian governments in 2013 to drive nation-wide change in the culture, behaviours and attitudes that lead to violence against women and their children.
Working within Policy and Evaluation and Practice Leadership units at Our Watch, this new position will contribute significantly to Our Watch’s portfolio of work on children and young people, in particular the delivery of the Creating a Violence-Free Future: Respectful Relationships Education in Australian Primary Schools in Queensland.
This role will work closely with key education stakeholders, including the Queensland Department of Education and Training, on the delivery of the above primary schools program and on broader Respectful Relationships Education and other primary prevention work with children and young people. You will be supporting teachers, principals and other school staff to implement a whole school approach to Respectful Relationships Education and to promote gender equality and respect in the school, recognising it as an education institution, a workplace and a community hub.
You will have significant experience in the education system (particularly at the primary school level), strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills, commitment to the promotion of gender equality and the prevention of violence against women, skills in training facilitation and project management and the ability to work independently and remotely and as part of a collaborative cross-organisation team. You will also have experience contributing to evaluation, an understanding of action learning and an openness to reflecting on your own practice and relationships for continuous improvement.
Please note this position is based in the Brisbane, Queensland. Part-time and job share arrangements are available. Secondments from the Queensland Department of Education and Training are welcome and arrangements available that will ensure continuation of service and entitlements.
