About the role

The Behaviour Support Specialist is a key role for Special Education & Evolving Disability Services (SEEDS) within Villa Maria Catholic Homes. Come and be part of the SEEDS team!

The Behaviour Support Specialist uses positive behaviour support models to children and adults with a disability, their families and their support networks. The SEEDS service models to work traditional boundaries to bring together a variety of disciplines and expertise, ensuring an innovative, person centered and community focused service to customers at all times.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and creative team member to join the team. If you are tertiary qualified in either Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a similar health profession and an enthusiastic leader we would like to hear from you.

Essential to this role is the ability to coach and empower people to implement clinically reasoned innovative, targeted and community focused behaviour support strategies.

Responsibilities include:

Provide and deliver specialist behaviour support services within best-practice basis and VMCH operating guidelines
Relevant qualifications together with experience such as Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or other relevant tertiary qualifications, including a current registration/professional membership
Ability to work alongside customers and their families to help them prioritise and implement strategies
Demonstrated experience in training, coaching and mentoring in the delivery of services
Ability to work in partnership with the community and stakeholders to identify and access appropriate health resources for customers and their families
