HeartKids is a national charity that operates across all Australian states and territories and provides support to the families of children with congenital and acquired heart disease and assists them with the day-to-day realities of raising a child with a cardiac condition.

Partnering with leading Sydney and regional hospitals HeartKids is on a growth phase investing in support both in and out of hospital and significant research priorities. Income is derived from philanthropy, grants, events, community and merchandise.

About the role

  • Support up to 10,000 children living with childhood heart disease
  • Would also suit commercial candidates with BDM or relationship skills
  • St Leonards based with state wide responsibilities

 

The Role

Reporting to the state manager you will drive new involvement with schools, sports clubs, third party events and identify charity of choice opportunities for the community fundraising program to achieve fundraising targets.

In support of these events and fundraising activities you will;

  • Manage relations with community fundraisers inspiring them to reach fundraising goals
  • Implement the annual events schedule for NSW and ACT
  • Engage donors and volunteers at key stages of the donor journey
  • Manage major events such as Tiny Tickers Ball and Sweetheart Day
  • Activate the database to improve returns
  • Write grant applications and manage acquittals

 

Skills Required

You have business development, event or community fundraising experience creating and delivering innovative activities and events. Ideally you will have a track record in managing supporters, volunteers, or customers and have the ability to work with a CRM database. Importantly you can demonstrate the ability to meet income targets and manage multiple events and deadlines.
