About the role

As Project Manager, Families your purpose of this role is to manage perinatal mental health projects and activities for beyondblue’s Families program area, including ‘Healthy Dads’ projects.
The Families team delivers projects and activities with a national focus across the perinatal, children, youth, parents, and older adults program areas.
Reporting to the Families Program Leader, the role will require the successful applicant to have high level experience and skills in project management, contract management, stakeholder engagement and document preparation.

As Project Manager, Families you will:
• Lead development and management of assigned projects and activities for beyondblue’s Families program focused on improving the mental health of people within family and community settings.
• Ensure organisational interdependencies are well planned for, communicated and managed to enable effective delivery of program priorities.
• Ensure ongoing effective development, monitoring and evaluation of assigned beyondblue and partner-funded projects.
• Liaise with key stakeholders, particularly government, other funders, and industry/professional associations to support assigned project objectives.
• Actively frame and review all projects as part of ongoing program management.
• Day-to-day administration of assigned projects and activities.
• Ensure that all areas of responsibility are informed by the views of people who have experienced depression and/or anxiety.
• Provide project support as required to the Program Leader including: updating databases; collating reports; preparing briefing notes, reports, and speaking notes; desktop research; and organising and facilitating teleconferences and face to face meetings.
• Participate in relevant working groups and undertake presentations to a range of groups relating to the program as directed.
• Work collaboratively and flexibly, undertaking other duties to support the Group as required.

About you:
Education/Qualifications
Essential
• A tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion, social sciences, research, or a related discipline is essential
Desirable
A formal Project Management qualification would be highly regarded

Knowledge/Skills/Experience
Essential
• A minimum of five years of work experience as a Project Manager, or in a similar relevant role.
• Project Management – Knowledge and skills in planning, resource identification and coordination, task and activity monitoring, risk and issues management, reporting and overall delivery against defined objectives, methods and outcomes.
• Contract Management – Demonstrated experience coordinating contracts, projects and/or partnerships with external parties.
• Stakeholder Management — Knowledge of principles and processes for effectively managing stakeholders and demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement. This includes internal and external stakeholder needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of stakeholder satisfaction.
• Document Preparation – Demonstrated ability to prepare a variety of types of documentation to a high standard including briefing notes, correspondence, and reports with a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to conceptually analyse and synthesise information.
Desirable
• Understanding of mental health and experience within the mental health sector
• Experience working on mental health promotion campaigns
• Experience working with online communities

Conditions and Benefits
The Project Manager, Families role is offered on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12 months. A total remuneration package of up to $95,000 will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending upon qualifications and experience.
