About the role

 

  • $90,890 – $109,969 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term (2 years)
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: Melbourne, CBD (flexibility may be available)

 

The position of Senior Project Officer forms a part of the Community and Social Innovation Branch in Programs, Small Business and Employment Division within Employment, Investment and Trade Group.

The Employment, Investment and Trade (EIT) Group comprises eight divisions: Investment and Economic Projects, Regional Development Victoria, Sector Development; Programs, Small Business and Employment, Industrial Relations Victoria, Trade Victoria, Major Projects Victoria and Metropolitan Economic Development Victoria. The Group provides investment attraction and facilitation assistance to attract new international and domestic investment. It also provides programs to link business workforce needs with skilled migration and untapped labour sources. Importantly, it provides business information, advisory and referral services for all Victorian businesses through Small Business Victoria and its network of international and domestic Victorian Government Business Offices.

The Community and Social Innovation Branch supports the growth of inclusive local economies in targeted locations across Victoria. The Branch works directly with communities and stakeholders to increase the responsiveness and coordination of local services in areas of high unemployment and low labour market participation.

Working within a dynamic environment, the Senior Project Officer will work with a local steering group to lead the development of site-specific and multi-faceted economic inclusion projects. This will include identifying and co-ordinating relevant funding streams from across Government to address priority areas for action as identified by the steering group.

High level conceptual and analytical skills with the ability to apply complex concepts to project development are essential. The successful applicant will have high level communications and influencing skills with the ability to develop effective, collaborative working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including local communities.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division.
