About the organisation

Organisation Name : NPY Women's Council
Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women's Council is a leading community service organisation that provides a range of programs to women, children and their families. Our work spans across 350,000 square kilometres of Central Australia and is critical to building and maintaining a better future for all Anangu communities within the region.

About the role

People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Walytjapiti (Caring for family together) Program’s vision is for Anangu families to remain healthy and positive about the future. To live in strong and independent communities where there is increased socioeconomic equality, children are in school and adults are meaningfully engaged.

These are communities where people are proud of their cultural identity, celebrate its rich and dynamic nature and raise happy, healthy children.

We are now recruiting for a Team Leader to work alongside the Deputy CEO to provide support and guidance to a dedicated team of professionals. This role will be an integral part of the Child and Family Wellbeing Service and will supervise 5 staff whilst providing day to day delivery of the Intensive Family Support program.

We are looking for someone with experience in supervision but can also balance the day to day delivery of program work and projects. This position will provide support in case management and ideally, you will have worked with Anangu people and have Central Australian working experience.

The successful person will be resilient, driven and focused. We’re looking for someone who has working knowledge of Child Protection legislation and community development frameworks. We’re also looking for someone who is assertive but also has the compassion to work with our staff and clients on sensitive issues.

This is your opportunity to make a real impact alongside a dedicated, skilled and supportive group of people. The organisation is committed to working within the NPY lands for the benefit of Anangu people in the region and you will work in an environment and landscape unique to Australia.

The work can be challenging but the rewards are significant.
