YDAS undertakes individual and policy advocacy to support young people with disability to have a stronger voice, reduce the barriers that they experience and improve their quality of life. YDAS is a core agency of the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic) and is funded by the Victorian Government.

About the role

• Hours: 3-4 days (22.8-30.4 hours) per week
• Remuneration: $65,208 – $69,160 p.a. (pro-rata). Classified at SCHCADS Award Level 5 (YACVic pays above award rates).
• Status: Fixed term contract until 31 December 2017.
• Location: Based in Melbourne CBD, with regular state-wide travel.

About Map Your Future
Map Your Future is an exciting new program that will build the capacity of young people with disability to exercise choice and control in their lives and access the full potential of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Over 9 months, this trial program will run as a series of 10 week, structured courses of individual and small group coaching. Innovative, flexible activities will empower young people to identify and plan life goals and create a personal NDIS ‘roadmap’.

About the role
The Map Your Future Project Officer will coordinate and evaluate the program. This will involve building relationships with and facilitating a series of one-to-one coaching sessions and small group workshops for young people with disability. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a pioneering project with a leading advocacy organisation.
