About the organisation
Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, a place where our normal days are extraordinary, as are the people we care for.
Peter Mac is one of a handful of integrated cancer research, education and treatment centres in the world. Each day our team strives to provide the very best in cancer care, even better treatments and potential cancer cures for all people affected by cancer.
About the role
The Communications and Digital Fundraising Coordinator will help transform the future for people with cancer by raising funds to help Peter Mac’s 500+ cancer researchers undertake their life-saving work. The role has two key components:
• Deliver and support communication outputs (online and offline) across all fundraising programs and donor giving types, in order to maximise donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and conversion rates to achieve income objectives.
• Coordinate the Foundation’s mass participation fundraising events (such as Run Melbourne and Melbourne Marathon) to meet agreed financial objectives.
This is a diverse role with exposure to all Peter Mac’s fundraising programs. Your days will range from writing web copy, emails and speeches through to taking inbound enquiries from mass participation fundraisers or managing external designers to deliver inspiring fundraising materials. This is a fast-paced role that requires the ability to juggle competing deadlines and collaborate closely with others while delivering professional results. You will see tangible outcomes of your success as you assist the whole Foundation team to maximise the net returns available for investment in cancer research.
The ideal candidate will have:
Essential
• A minimum of two years’ experience in copywriting for fundraising, including the development of web copy, eDMs, presentations, reports, letters and speeches.
• Strong online communications skills, particularly email marketing (writing, building and distributing).
• Broad understanding of fundraising tactics as they apply to communications outputs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage sensitively with a broad range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated project management skills, and the ability to juggle competing deadlines.
• Experience in delivering engagement events.
