About the role

  • Based across our Mount Waverley and Wantirna sites
  • Three Part Time positions available, fixed term until June 2018. One position 70 hours per fortnight, two positions 72 hours per fortnight!

Villa Maria Catholic Homes are seeking Disability Support Workers (Band Two) to provide support for people in a manner that enables people to participate to the maximum extent possible within our Adult Day Program Options, located in Mount Waverley and Wantirna.

Due to service growth, there are three part time, fixed term positions available until June 2018 – one position 70 hours per fortnight, two positions 72 hours per fortnight.

These positions will be Monday to Friday, 5 days per week. Core hours of 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM are required. 

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

  • To be a “Key Worker” for a selected number of individuals , which entails supporting the creation and implementation of personal plans as well as liaising with important people in their life
  • Develop, promote and enhance an inclusive community to, develop linkages that are meaningful to the individuals we support.
  • To provide direct support for individuals during program delivery, meal times, personal care, health emotional, behavioural, physical and social supports.

 

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Certificate IV in Disability Services
  • Experience working with individuals with high complex needs, across a number of areas of the Disability sector
  • Experience with program planning and development
  • Sound level of computer skills, particularly in the areas of document creation and maintenance

Applicants with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a tertiary qualification in Community Development are highly regarded.
