About the organisation
The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is the lead Aboriginal child and family welfare organisation in Victoria, protecting and promoting the rights of Aboriginal children and young people. We provide programs and services to reinforce Aboriginal culture and encourage best parenting practices, and advise government in relation to child abuse and neglect in the Aboriginal community.
We are a statewide Aboriginal community controlled organisation advocating for the rights of Aboriginal children, young people and families, and providing them with services premised on human rights, self-determination, cultural respect and safety.
About the role

We value Cultural knowledge and are looking highly motivated candidates with experience in delivering counselling or facilitating group work with Aboriginal men, women, children and families.
VACCA is excited to be developing a series of new programs which offer a distinctly therapeutic and cultural approach to working with Aboriginal men, women, children and families impacted by family violence.
Culture, connection and healing are central to the design and delivery of this program and VACCA’s Aboriginal cultural therapeutic framework will guide program delivery. The program model is family focused and where possible, all family members will be involved and supported, individually and as a family.
These programs will operate from our offices in Northern, Southern, Western Metro and you can work individually and/or in group settings, as well as with women who are in prison, or with young people.
Ongoing training will be provided.
