The Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Incorporated (VAEAI) is a state-wide community based organisation representing Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Groups (LAECGs), across eight regions in Victoria. We aim to increase access, participation and positive outcomes for Koorie people in education, training and employment.

About the role

The primary focus of the position is to manage the implementation of the Koorie Inclusion Project which aims to increase the successful participation of Koorie children in all Early Childhood and Child Care Services (ECCC) in Victoria. The project includes the development of mentoring and learning opportunities for ECCC staff to better support the inclusion of Koorie children in mainstream services as well as the development of resources and information that are appropriate to all ECCC services across the State.

You will manage all aspects of the project including monitoring and reporting on project progress, working with key stakeholders to ensure the project is delivering on agreed outcomes, providing support and coaching to the Koorie Inclusion Support Officer and advising VAEAI and project partners on learnings and potential policy implications.

An effective advocate, communicator and project manager, you will demonstrate a sound knowledge of Koorie culture and communities together with a good understanding of the Early Years policy and strategic environment. You will be able to work confidently with a range of stakeholders including LAECGs and the wider Koorie community, ECCC service providers and relevant government departments.
