Cancer Council Victoria has been leading efforts against cancer since 1936 through world leading research, prevention, support and advocacy programs. The Fundraising and Communication Division (FCD) is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from the Victorian public. The Community Events Team within the Fundraising and Communication Division is primarily responsible for developing and supporting local community fundraising programs, which provide essential resources for CCV’s important work.

• Exciting opportunity to support planning and administration of community events for a respected not-for-profit
• Full time permanent position – St Kilda Road, Melbourne

About your opportunity

We are seeking an engaging and motivated Community Events Officer to support the Events Program within the Fundraising and Communication Division at CCV. Reporting to the Community Events Coordinator, your role is to implement our core community fundraising campaign “I Will For Cancer,” as well as other community event campaigns. You will:

• Connect with passionate Cancer Council supporters, acting as a key contact for peer-to-peer fundraisers, volunteers and volunteer committees, supporting them to plan a range of community fundraising events
• Liaise with various internal stakeholders to ensure events meet internal requirements, and successfully advance the impact of CCV’s community activities
• Assist with print and digital marketing administration, ensure supporter database is maintained, and reconcile funds raised through events

Enjoy a varied role where no two days are the same, utilising your strong customer service and administration skills to further CCV’s impact in the Victorian community.

All about you

We are looking for a highly motivated person with:

• At least two years’ experience in a similar role, with high level customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with supporters, respond empathetically and speak at community events
• Sound database skills with the ability to effectively manage various administrative tasks

What we can offer you

This full-time permanent position provides a salary within range $49,135 – $54,181 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities and a location close to public transport.
