The Convent site comprises 11 historic buildings, 2 galleries, 4 cafes, a radio station, a school, and 16+ acres of expansive gardens and open spaces. A thriving and dynamic community, the Convent is home to more than 100 tenants including artists, writers, designers, performers and wellbeing practitioners, and welcomes nearly one million visitors each year. The Convent is managed by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) – the not-for-profit organisation that owns and operates the site on behalf of the public, and manages the day-to-day operations, sustainability and future vision of this unique arts, culture and learning precinct.

About the role

The Role
The Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) currently has a unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated fundraising, development and communications professional to join our team. The Development Coordinator role provides general and specialist support within the Fundraising and Development department, and helps to drive the Abbotsford Convent’s year-round fundraising initiatives, with a focus on submission writing, campaign support and donor development. The role will support the Head of Development in implementing and maintaining a successful, sustainable philanthropy and development program at the ACF, with the purpose of keeping the iconic Convent precinct open, activated, vibrant and welcoming for generations to come.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
• assisting with end-to-end development and delivery of fundraising campaigns
• preparation of grant applications, funding submissions, and acquittal reports
• maintaining accuracy and integrity of donor data records in Salesforce
• supporting donor development, stewardship and engagement activities
• general administrative and coordination support for internal and external fundraising activities with the purpose of expanding the ACF’s financial supporter base and community engagement with the ACF

The successful applicant will have a strong work ethic, a flair for stakeholder engagement and a track record in developing successful grant applications and contributing meaningfully to fundraising campaigns. Ideally, you are an all-round enthusiastic team player with a keen interest in supporting arts, culture, community connectedness and wellbeing.

This is a part-time fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, with a salary base of $55,000 p.a. (pro rata 0.6) depending upon experience, plus superannuation.
