About the role

The Office of Alumni Relations and Philanthropy (AR&P) is responsible for the leadership and delivery of key strategic fundraising & engagement programs to support the priorities of ANU and for developing and sustaining positive relations with alumni and donors.

AR&P is looking for a Development Manager who will work with a wide range of staff and internal stakeholders in the development of relationships to generate philanthropic income supporting ANU, and in particular the ANU College of Law. He/she will have a strong external-facing focus and will develop and maintain a set of key interpersonal relationships managing a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors.

Crucial to success in this role will be a proven track record in building and developing long-term donor or client relationships with the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Demonstrable experience in philanthropic fundraising, or a similarly client-focussed role with experience in developing compelling proposals or business cases. Experience gained in the legal, educational, cultural and not-for-profit sectors will be viewed favourably. The ability to operate effectively in a complex environment is fundamental.
