About the role

General Manager

  • Melbourne based, South Melbourne arts and café precinct location
  • Managing a small team
  • Full-time, $87k package

 

The role:
We are seeking to appoint a leading administrator with strong business management experience, and an entrepreneurial mindset to fulfil the responsibilities of the newly created role of General Manager.

You will have a strong understanding of a range of cross-sectoral landscapes that Kids Thrive operates in. These may include senior-level experience in the arts, education, health and community development, within enterprise and not-for-profit sectors.

Reporting to the Creative Directors, the General Manager assumes an advocacy role for Kids Thrive, promoting our arts-based ‘child-led community change’ programs within the broader community, with major stakeholders including government and philanthropic sector, and within the arts, education, early years’ development, health, and community welfare sectors.

Experiences required:
Your skills and experience will be required in the following areas:

  • Operational management
  • Staff & stakeholder management
  • Financial management
  • Business development and fundraising
  • Governance and reporting
  • Marketing activities

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate a commitment to working within Kids Thrive values: enacting strong ethics and commitment, partnered with flexibility and creativity – whilst being accountable for achieving business objectives and results. The success you have achieved in similar roles will be reflected in your personal integrity, professional standards, and experience working within and growing organisations comparable to Kids Thrive.

Tertiary qualifications and professional experience in Business/Commerce or a related field will be highly regarded. Candidates may also bring post-graduate qualifications appropriate to the skills and experiences sought including: Arts Management, Accounting, Education, Community Development or related areas.

Your capacity to foster happy, focused teams, equally committed to a values-based, social outcomes-driven enterprise, will define your success in this position.
