The St Vincent de Paul Society is a leading provider of community support services and has close to 100 Special Works across the State in the areas of homelessness, mental health, disability, financial counselling, supported accommodation, food provision, refugees and migrants and addiction counselling. Departmental Overview

Fundraising & Communications (F&C) is a team of Society employees and volunteers dedicated to raising the profile, awareness, funds and support for the ‘good works’ of the St Vincent de Paul Society. The Fundraising & Communications team encompasses a range of professional services including communications, public relations, media liaison, publications, fundraising, events and sponsorship, bequests and marketing.

About the role

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Based at the State Support Office in Lewisham, NSW
Competitive base salary plus super; generous salary packaging that includes motor vehicle allowance

About the Role

The primary objectives of the Bequest Manager’s role is to drive the strategic development and growth of the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Bequest Program; develop awareness of the organisation’s need for bequests; and to identify, manage and cultivate potential benefactors to the Society through a strategic stewardship and conversion program.

The role of Bequests Manager sits within a well-established fundraising program and reports to the Head of Fundraising and Communication. You will work closely with the Communications team to promote the bequest program through media and bequest advertising. You will also work with the Bequest Team, Major Gifts Manager, Events and Marketing team and Services to run a series of targeted events at services. What you need to be successful in this role

Proven track record working in a similar role for at least 10 years
Proven expertise working in dynamic fundraising environments
Appropriate degree qualifications
Able to act at a strategic and operational level
Superior communication, influencing and relationship building skills
Inspirational leadership style
Well organized and proactive
Committed to the cause and achieving fundraising goals in respect of Bequest program
Skilled in developing & executing strategies
Excellent relationship development skills
Understanding of professional boundaries within a relational role
Current NSW Driver’s Licence
Computer literacy in Microsoft suite, and familiarity with databases

Pre-employment Clearances:
