About the role

It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Oxfam Events team responsible for delivering experiential events for Oxfam Australia.  Included in the portfolio of events is Oxfam Trailwalker Australia held in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.

 

The Role

We are looking for an experienced and target driven fundraising events professional ready to dive in to steward participants for Oxfam Trailwalker Melbourne.

 

This role is responsible for engaging with 700 teams and raising more than $2.5 million from peer to peer fundraising in Melbourne.

 

Playing an integral part of the Events Fundraising Team, this role will focus on increasing participant fundraising, retention rates, corporate engagement and stewarding high fundraising teams to ultimately contribute to grow net income across the Events portfolio

 

 

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of peer to peer fundraising, ideally built from more than two years’ experience working in an ‘event fundraising’ environment
  • Ability to build strong supporter relationships (VIP supporters and corporates) to drive participation and fundraising targets
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including public speaking and spokesperson experience
  • Exceptional communication skills. You’ll be confident writing, planning and segmenting tailored EDMs to follow a planned supporter journey via an email management tool
  • Excellent one to one customer service skills providing support and encouragement to fundraisers to increase their fundraising goals
  • Experienced and confident hosting key events to inspire fundraising and acknowledge fundraising achievement.
  • Experience using a fundraising CRM
  • Experience uncovering impactful participant stories that can be leveraged, to drive participation, fundraising and to build awareness across media and social media
