About the organisation

Organisation Name : Palliative Care Australia

Palliative Care Australia represents all those who work towards high quality palliative care. We believe quality palliative care occurs when strong networks exist between specialist palliative care providers,
primary generalist, primary specialist and support care providers and the community.
We are a respected national leader in end of life care, working closely with consumers, our Member Organisations and the palliative care workforce to improve access to, and promote the need for,
palliative care.

About the role

  • Take the next step in your career with a leading not for profit organisation
  • Salary $75,000 to $80,000 plus super (access to full range of salary packaging options)
  • Finish each working day knowing you have played a vital role in improving quality of life for many people

If you are ready to take the next step in your marketing/communications career and share PCA’s vision of quality palliative care for all, this could be the opportunity you’ve been
looking for.

The Role

Each day you will be involved in all aspects of communications and media management – from writing our Annual Report and Palliative Matters e-publication, to posts for social media. We’re looking for someone who wants to play a vital role in helping us to develop strategies for communications and stakeholder engagement.

You’ll assist in our day-to-day media and public relations activity, which includes media monitoring, writing of media releases and opinion pieces, as well as media liaison. Ensuring our website content is fresh, our databases are up to date and our promotional activity KPIs are tracked is a key part of the role.

Using your great communication skills, you’ll actively build strong and productive relationships with partners, members and related organisations. You’ll get tremendous satisfaction from identifying  promotional opportunities and new areas for cooperation and sponsorship.

About you

Your relevant tertiary qualifications and several years of experience in communications, stakeholder engagement and/or public relations will enable you to hit the ground running in this role.
As maintaining our websites and social media is a vital part of the role, you’ll need experience at managing web content (knowledge of Wordpress would be ideal), as well as using Facebook and Twitter for stakeholder engagement. Design skills and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop is essential, as well as experience at maintaining databases and use of online research tools. It goes without saying that you’ll need fantastic writing skills and enjoy
multitasking!

If you have experience in the not-for-profit sector that would be a bonus but isn’t essential.

This is a unique, full time and permanent opportunity for job satisfaction. In addition to improving quality of life every day for people in your community, your hard work, enthusiasm and  commitment will be rewarded with a competitive salary package and the support of a passionate team.

If this sounds like the opportunity you’ve been waiting for, don’t delay. Apply today.
