About the role
The role of General Manager (titled State Executive Officer) is the most senior employee within the organisation and reports through to the GGQ Board. The exiting General Manager, who has been in the role for eight years, has developed a number of process improvements which have resulted in the incoming candidate inheriting a role which will be focused around building membership, the volunteer experience and reporting back to the Board on a broad range of operational and strategic issues.
Key deliverables in the role will include: strategic and operational management, planning and reporting, policy oversight, financial control, people and culture development, and supporting the work of the Members and volunteers. You will also lead a small but dedicated team of ten employees.
The General Manager is a member of the Girl Guides Australia Management Committee and will have the opportunity to contribute to the national strategy and operations of Guiding. You will work closely with the State Commissioner to support the organisation which makes a difference to the lives of thousands of girls and young women.
The successful candidate will be an experienced General Manager who should be equally comfortable in devising and presenting a strategic plan as well as getting involved operationally. Driven by a sense of purpose and mission, your skill set will be widely utilised and you will get to make a tangible difference on a daily basis.
A valid Blue Card is a requirement for this role.
