About the organisation
Riding for the Disabled ACT Inc. (Pegasus) is an iconic charity in the Canberra community with more than 40 years’ experience delivering horse-facilitated therapy programs for people with a disability. Horse-facilitated therapy improves coordination, balance, muscle development and fitness. It also boosts personal confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, leadership and trust.
Pegasus has experienced numerous challenges transitioning to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Pegasus no longer receives any government block funding and relies on the goodwill and generosity of its supporters.
Pegasus is a Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) Australia Centre of Excellence and delivers over 2,500 sessions for more than 100 people with a disability each year.
About the role
Manage, coordinate and facilitate organisational communications and fundraising for Pegasus. It is the perfect role for someone who:
• loves people
• is an experienced writer and communicator
• is interested in making a real difference in a well-regarded Canberra charity
• can prioritise, delegate and has good time management skills.
From time to time, the role does require the Communications and Fundraising Manager to work out of hours for fundraising events and/or functions.
