AMES Australia is a statutory authority which specialises in the delivery of education, training, employment, settlement and community services to a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) client base.

We currently have multiple Case Manager HSP vacancies for the Humanitarian Settlement Program at our Noble Park and Footscray locations. If successful in your application, you will work collaboratively with the Humanitarian Settlement Program team, clients and relevant stakeholders to provide holistic, strengths-based case management, information and referral services to HSP clients. In addition, you will coordinate the implementation of the case management plan and play a vital role in ensuring clients have access to all required services to achieve settlement outcomes.

We are looking for applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following:
• A Diploma in Community Services (Case Management) or related field or a Degree in Applied Sciences (Community Services) or related field (mandatory)
• 2+ years’ experience in case management with the human service sector in Australia (mandatory)
• A current Working With Children check (for employment purposes) is mandatory
• A current valid Driver’s Licence is mandatory
• Access to a comprehensively insured car is preferred
• Experience in providing effective case management to clients from CALD background in the areas of settlement, community detention, asylum seeker programs, community health or related area in the context of new and emerging refugee communities
• Effective interpersonal, cross cultural communication and client advocacy skills and the ability to liaise effectively with contractual partners, mainstream and settlement service providers as well as clients and their communities, and volunteers
• Demonstrated ability to apply the Strengths Based Model in practice with clients
• Excellent time management skills and experience meeting reporting requirements, with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
• Sound understanding of current Commonwealth and State policies related to immigration, settlement, asylum seekers, income support and other relevant social policies and demonstrated ability to respond flexibly to changing policy and program needs
• Working knowledge of the policies and referral protocols relating to high use settlement services; specialist operational knowledge or experience in one or more service areas such as community health, housing and tenancy, income issues, immigration or youth services is highly desirable
• Demonstrated experience in working autonomously as well as collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve/exceed key performance goals
• Excellent written communication, report writing and word processing skills
• Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook and ability to use Internet and other online tools
• Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Australia Vision and demonstrated commitment to performance management, quality and continuous improvement principles
• Proficiency in a relevant community language would be an added advantage

These full time positions are being offered on a fixed term basis to 15 October 2018, and will be based at our Footscray and Noble Park locations. The annual salary is $61,744 + 9.5% super.
