About the role

We currently have multiple part-time Client Support Worker HSP vacancies for the Humanitarian Settlement Program at our Dallas, Noble Park and Footscray locations. If successful in your application, you will undertake over the phone or face to face assessments of clients, refer identified high need / complex cases through to Case Managers, undertake case noting and referrals to external and internal agencies and undertake the duties of a Community Guide when required.

To be considered for these positions you will need to demonstrate proficiency in the following Community languages relevant to our current client caseload:

Footscray
Arabic
Karen / Burmese

Noble Park
Dari
Chin / Burmese
Arabic

Dallas
Arabic

We are looking for applications from candidates who can demonstrate the following:
• Minimum of Certificate III in Community Services or similar field (mandatory)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in case management support of clients from CALD backgrounds (mandatory)
• Diploma in Community Services or similar field is highly desirable
• Community language relevant to current caseload is essential
• A current Working With Children Check (for employment purposes) is mandatory
• A current valid Drivers’ Licence is mandatory
• Strong written communication, report writing and word processing skills
• Strong organisational, time management and administrative skills with the ability to work with a high level of autonomy
• Demonstrated ability to apply the Strengths Based Model in practice with clients
• Experience in maintaining and implementing administrative and database systems
• Computer literate and ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet and database programs
• Highly effective interpersonal and cross cultural communication skills and an interest in working with CALD community organizations
• Experience working autonomously and within multi-disciplinary teams to achieve agreed goals
• Demonstrated positive values of integrity, reliability, teamwork and professionalism consistent with the AMES Australia Vision and Mission and demonstrated commitment to quality and continuous improvement principles

These part- time (0.6 FTE / 22.8 hours per week) positions are being offered on a fixed term basis to 15 October 2018, and will be based at our Dallas, Footscray and Noble Park locations. The annual fulltime equivalent salary of $47,053 + 9.5% super will be prorated.
