About the organisation
Every day eight Australian babies are born with heart defects, and every week, four will die as a result of childhood heart disease (CHD) while thousands upon thousands more live with the disease.
HeartKids Limited is a national charity that operates across all Australian states and territories to secure the future, and enhance quality of life for infants, children, young people and adults impacted by congenital / childhood heart disease. HeartKids is the only national charity supporting those living with the disease by;
- Providing high quality information and support services
- Driving world class research into the causes, treatment and management
- Advocating for the needs of infants, children, young people and adults
- Raising awareness of the impact of congenital / childhood heart disease
HeartKids is at an exciting juncture as it embarks on a journey that will continue to change the face of congenital and childhood heart disease treatment and support for generations to come. Income is currently derived from individual donations, philanthropic grants, community events and corporates and is looking to substantially grow and diversify income over the next five years.
About the role

- Lead the fundraising strategy of a newly integrated national NFP

The Role
As a member of the executive team reporting directly to the CEO the primary focus of the role is to create, deliver, drive and continuously evaluate a diverse range of best practise fundraising programs, supported by engaging marketing campaigns and community relationship activities.
Leading the national and state based fundraising teams you will be responsible for the tactical delivery of the current strategy including individual giving, trust and foundations, community, corporates and events. You will take the lead on identifying and developing new programs with a focus on regular giving, major donors and bequests raising significant financial support.
Skills Required
You have a track record in managing a similarly complex, growing fundraising operation. You have a deep understanding and an appreciation of best practice fundraising, including regular and individual giving, corporate and major donors and bequests. You are strategic with highly developed financial and team management skills honed in a national or global organisation.
