About the organisation
The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Foundation was founded in 1989 to raise funds for and on behalf of the hospital. Since its inception it has provided ongoing support of the RCH in its mission to be a world class paediatric hospital.
The RCH Foundation raises funds and supplies much needed resources for the RCH. Whilst a legally separate organisation, it works closely with the RCH in achieving its vision. The people of Victoria love the RCH and feel a great ownership best demonstrated through ongoing and generous giving to the RCH Foundation, including fundraising appeals like the Good Friday Appeal and the Auxiliaries in their community. The RCH Foundation acknowledges this strong ownership and takes its role seriously as custodian of these donated funds, for and on behalf of all donors and the future needs of the RCH.
About the role
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Gift Shop Support Volunteer role is a point of contact for those purchasing items from the gift shop. The volunteer will provide high quality and client friendly service, take phone orders and deliveries to hospital wards, utilise POS system and receive and process donations.
TIME REQUIRED
Onbe full day (eight hours) or two half days (four hours each) per week as required ongoing. Due to training required, minimum six months commitment to position.
The role is very rewarding dealing with patients, staff, visitors and donors who want to contribute to the work of the RCH.
Expected start date is Monday 17 October 2017.
