Organisation Name : Domestic Violence NSW
DVNSW is the peak representative body for specialist domestic and family violence services across the state. Operating from a feminist, social justice framework, DVNSW works to improve policy, legislative and program responses to domestic and family violence (DFV). Its work includes research, policy development and guidance to the government and the NGO sector, prevention and awareness work, campaigns, systemic advocacy, training and education. At DVNSW, you will be part of a small, collaborative team, co-located with other NGOs working in this space. DVNSW offers a supportive, flexible and friendly work environment and encourages all staff to continue to develop and deepen their skills and experience by working on a variety of projects and initiatives.

This role takes the lead in DVNSW’s work in the areas of research, evaluation and policy with a view to assisting the DFV sector in achieving best practice and delivering quality services. The role coordinates internal and external reporting systems, evaluates DVNSW’s projects and practice as well as managing research, submission and measurement outcomes. The role engages with a range of stakeholders including NSW Department of Family & Community Services, research organisations, other peak bodies and Women NSW. It leads DVNSW’s policy and sector partnership development through the DVNSW Policy Advisory Committee and the NSW Women’s Alliance.

About You
To succeed in and enjoy this role, you’ll have a genuine commitment to contributing to positive change in our society. You’ll have highly-developed research, analysis and evaluation skills, can get your head around the detail in qualitative data, crunch the numbers and pull it all together into effective reports, policies and presentations.

You’ll have a strong background in research, (preferably within DFV) and an ability to efficiently scan the external environment to maintain a current understanding policy framework, the mechanics of government and the domestic and family violence, homelessness and women’s sectors.
