About the role
As the Business Development Officer, you will work with the General Manager to deliver our recently developed strategic funding plan. This is a 22.5 hours per week role, initially on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The role will be based in our newly refurbished office in Belmont.
The core objectives of the role include:
- Overseeing the delivery and compliance of current & new funding relationships
- Assisting the General Manager in maintaining key supporter relationships
- Identifying potential funders and supporters and developing compelling proposals and submissions to engage them
The ideal candidate would have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience working in a similar role or in sales/business development
- An understanding of the funding streams available to a not for profit organisation
- An existing network of potential supporters
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- Great attention to detail
- The ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
- The capacity to work independently and be proactive
- An understanding of the NFP sector and any inherent challenges
- An understanding and value of the important role GGWA plays in the community and be motivated by its significant potential for growth
