About the organisation

Organisation Name : The Song Room

The Song Room is a national not-for-profit organisation that brightens the futures of Australia’s most disadvantaged children with tailored, high-quality music and arts programs, delivered in partnership with schools and educational institutions across the country. Programs are independently proven to lift the academic performance, school attendance and social-emotional wellbeing of Australian children. The Song Room works to bridge this equity gap to ensure all children have the chance to perform at their best.

About the role

The current CEO is stepping down after 12 years with The Song Room, having grown the organisation from a small Victorian operation to a strategic, national player in the education sector, now delivering face-to-face programs in over 100 highly disadvantaged communities each year, as well as online learning in over 8,000 schools in Australia. The Board is seeking a CEO who will build on this success with vision, energy and intelligence.

Supported by a passionate and committed team, the CEO operates within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. In collaboration with the Board, the successful candidate will work to imagine and create the future strategic direction. With a focus on the continued growth and sustainability, you will lead all program and operational activities. This exciting role offers the opportunity to enhance the business and build capability to deliver exceptional learning experiences for children.

The Song Room seeks an experienced business leader, with a strategic and innovative approach, who inspires confidence and accountability. With significant management experience, you will empower others to enhance operations and deliver quality programs in a complex and evolving sector. With a passion for education, strategic advocacy and evidence-based research you will have a track record of building strong partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
