About the role
We are currently seeking an innovative and proactive leader to join our team during an exciting time for the future direction of the council. The Coordinator Social Planning and Partnerships will focus on leading the social partnerships team to lead the execution of Council’s functions with respect to Community Life within the LGA.
Responsibilities may include:
• Effectively lead the Social Planning and Partnerships team
• Manage the development of a contemporary and best practice social planning framework
• Develop and sustain strategic partnerships with government and non-government organisations and the community to create and deliver programs and projects
• Manage and report on the financial planning and expenditure of the projects, including management of operational and capital costs
• Integrate target group needs based planning within the work of Community Life, including consideration of children, families, young people, older people, people with a disability, ATSI and CALD communities as well as health promotion and community safety
• Work collaboratively across the organisation to develop cross functional strategies to integrate social planning within Council’s broader corporate and strategic land use planning frameworks
The successful candidate will display the following key skills and attributes:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in social planning, social and behavioural sciences, public policy, town planning
• Extensive work related experience in social planning and/or asset based community development
• Specialist experience in planning, developing and implementing community programs and projects including the ability to successfully promote social strategies amongst key stakeholders
• Sustantial experience in team leadership and supervision, along with superior skills working with multidisciplinary technical specialists in leading planning and program delivery
• Demonstrated ability to broker partnerships that deliver on identified strategic outcomes and priorities
• Demonstrated experience in implementing, supervising and evaluating funded community projects and programs
