About the role

Position Title: Database Developer

Employment Status: Fixed term, Full Time (12 Months) – Sydney Office

Salary, Classification Level: $80,197 (Org Support Specialist 1)

Overview of position
The role of the Information Systems Unit is to assist with technical issues relating to the CPSU IT Network Systems, applications, servers, printers, telephony and other IT related equipment. The role of the Database Developer is to provide support to CPSU staff nationally on all development and application matters as well as is to maintain and support existing or new development, database and reporting solutions. The right candidate will have proven experience in application, database and development environments to a high level of customer service.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Development, administration and support:
• Log, analyse and review reporting, application and development requirements
• Respond promptly and professionally to ensure all matters have been satisfactorily completed
• Administer and maintain SQL databases
• Liaise with management and teams to determine and document reporting requirements
• Build and develop Reports to meet business requirements
• Maintain and support existing scripts
OTHER DUTIES:
• After hours work is required
• Other duties or projects assigned by the Information Services Unit Director
SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential
1. Minimum3 years experience in IT Development and/or Database administration roles with a focus on high quality service.
2. High level of accuracy and attention to detail
3. Proven experience administering and maintaining SQL databases
4. Understanding and previous experience in HTML, ASP, Java, VB scripting and Crystal Reporting.
5. Experience developing and supporting PowerBI Dashboards including knowledge of DAX.
6. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
7. Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem solving skills
8. Ability to work autonomously with strong time management skills

Optional
1. Tertiary IT qualifications
2. Experience in database design and management best practices
3. Knowledge of ASP.Net fundamentals
4. Knowledge on IIS management and administration
