About the role

SCHCADS Classification: Level 8, PP1
Hours: Full time or Part time (0.8EFT) Monday to Thursday
Location: Level 2, 491 King Street, West Melbourne

Position Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a professional development and events strategy for Volunteering Victoria, which supports capacity and capability building in the Victorian volunteering sector
• Source and/or develop, manage and evaluate multi-modal training programs and materials that:
– Meet the current and emerging needs of all Volunteering Victoria’s market segments
– Are consistent with the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement
– Meet the requirements of our State and Federal Government funding agreements
– Include an appropriate mix of delivery and learning modes
– Include an appropriate mix of accredited and non-accredited training & education
– Are affordable and accessible
– Complement the training programs and resources offered by our key stakeholders

• Build relationships and appropriate partnerships with suitable accredited training organizations and individuals
• • Chair and provide leadership to the Leadership in Volunteering Special Interest Group, including facilitating smaller groups as required e.g. Learning & Development Reference Group
• Facilitate customisation of workshops, scheduling and quotations for professional development
• Build, manage and evaluate Volunteering Victoria’s Mentoring Program
• Manage the running of events, professional development programs, and other relevant activities
• Work with Volunteering Victoria’s Policy & Advocacy Officer and other staff to identify current and emerging issues that may be the subject matter for our professional development and events program
• Provide support to the Senior Events Coordinator and the Professional Development Facilitator
• Work with Volunteering Victoria’s Marketing team to establish:
o member consultation to better understand our constituent’s training and development requirements
o A feedback regime to monitor satisfaction with our professional development and events program
o A marketing communications strategy to promote our professional development and events program
o Opportunities for partners, sponsors including commercial partners
• Work with the CEO to establish other services to support sector capacity & capability building
• Develop and manage the annual professional development and events budget (including pricing and costing) in consultation with the CEO and Finance Manager
• Develop appropriate policies, processes and documentation to support the development and delivery of relevant Volunteering Victoria professional development services and events
• Build and manage a team of appropriately skilled staff, volunteers and consultants to assist achieve organizational priorities
• Ability to travel and attend after-hours activities as required
• During natural disasters or emergencies, if required (and by negotiation with the CEO) provide short-term support to the team.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential
• A successful track record in learning and development management including experience in facilitation and training delivery
• Ability to network and build relationships and partnerships with external stakeholders
• Demonstrated understanding of the volunteering sector and volunteer management
• Experience with project coordination and writing proposals and reports
• Well-developed written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work in a changing, complex environment, with a high degree of autonomy
• A demonstrated ability to meet deadlines whilst contributing to a team environment

Desirable
• Holds a minimum Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualification
• Experience in online learning management systems Experience in developing and delivering accredited training programs
• Experience leading change management strategies
• Experience in event management and sales
