•Base salary of $76,135 – $79,613 per annum (pro-rata); SCHADS Level 6
•9 days per fortnight, fixed term ending 30 June 2018 (Note: YRIPP has been delivered by CMY in an ongoing way for over 10 years; the contract timeframe for this position will be extended subject to overall funding contract renewal, and pending successful probation period)
•Salary Packaging which provides up to $15,900 tax free + 9.5% superannuation
•Pay rise of approximately 4% per annum

•Located at CMY Carlton Office, with regular travel to regions

The Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY) is a leading independent organisation that helps migrant and refugee young people build positive lives in Australia. By focusing on young people’s strengths we are able to develop stronger communities, support other service providers and influence decision makers at local, state and national levels.
YRIPP is the Youth Referral and Independent Person Program. YRIPP delivers a high quality system of adult volunteers called “Independent Persons” who attend police interviews with young people in police custody when a parent or guardian is not available. YRIPP also seeks to divert young people from future offending through early intervention at the point of police contact.
Reporting to the YRIPP Coordinator – the YRIPP Team Leader is responsible for leading the day to day delivery of YRIPP across all the YRIPP regions throughout Victoria. The Team Leader will lead, supervise and support a team of YRIPP Regional Officers, ensure appropriate systems are in place to support high quality and timely service delivery, respond to issues arising in police interviews and coordinate relationships with YRIPP’s regional stakeholders.
The successful applicant will have:
•Experience in project implementation and coordination including well-developed organisational and analytical skills
•Experience in the supervision of a team of staff
•High level proficiency with a range of software programs and data analysis tools
•Highly developed interpersonal, liaison and negotiation skills
•Ability to work independently, use own initiative, and work in a team environment
•Experience working in the community, youth, justice, Indigenous or multicultural sectors and a demonstrated commitment to social justice principles
•Relevant tertiary qualification in social sciences / criminal justice / law / social work / community development / youth work.
