About the Role

Rowing Australia is looking for a fundraising expert to join their team in a contract role for an initial 12-month period in an exciting time of organisational growth and development. It is anticipated this will become a permanent position subject to performance and achievement of agreed KPI’s.

The role will provide the necessary leadership to implement the key priorities of the Rowing Australia philanthropic fundraising plan, including building capability and capacity within Rowing Australia within this area and planning and managing key revenue generating activities.

The successful candidate will have substantial fundraising and management experience, a talent for building relationships and a proven track record in securing philanthropic donations from High Net Worth (HNW) individuals, corporates, foundations, trusts and statutory sources.

Experience in development and execution of major gift programs and/or capital campaigns will be highly valued. In addition, applicants with Membership of FIA and/or CFRE will be preferred.

Rowing is a sport for life, accessible to people of all ages, genders, fitness and skill levels and currently enjoyed by over 60,000 participants and 25,000 active members ranging from young rowers at school through to those at universities and in the wider community right through to masters rowing. RA member associations operate in seven states with over 185 schools and 156 clubs offering rowing programs.

Rowing Australia is responsible for the elite end of the sport. It runs two National Training Centres (Sydney and Canberra) where 50 of Australia’s best rowers train full time lead by two Head Coaches and four support coaches. It is also responsible for the domestic and international preparation and competition calendar for the Australian Rowing Team and leads the national development program that supports the next generation of rowers coming through the system.
