We help businesses, governments and philanthropists be more effective funders, and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA is the leading Venture Philanthropy organisation in Australia and has pioneered this approach since 2002. To date we have partnered with funders to better invest more than $50 million of funding and provide more effective support to over 88 social ventures. These ventures are innovative, social purpose organisations who have the capacity to grow and scale their impact to improve the lives of those living in disadvantaged circumstances across Australia.

The position
The Venture Partnership Manager is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of venture partners, while designing and delivering SVA’s tailored impact support. The scope of support includes strategic organisational capacity building, design of social impact measurement frameworks and brokering collaborative relationships. The position also focuses on developing and nurturing SVA’s funder relationships. This is a highly entrepreneurial and innovative role that adjusts to the different and evolving requirements of SVA’s venture partners, ensuring they are provided with the support and resources to deliver their social objectives and in doing so, enables SVA to learn, inform and influence wider system changes. Key elements of the position are: Venture portfolio development, identifying quality venture partners; Venture portfolio management, ensuring effective delivery of SVA’s support to selected venture partners; and fundraising and funder management, proactively developing relationships with existing and prospective funders and pro bono partners.
Who you are
You are a self-starter with initiative and a forward-thinking approach to your work. You will come to the role with highly developed strategic thinking skills and a proven track record working with organisations to achieve and scale social impact. Strong, established relationships in the social sector, combined with a working knowledge of the complexity of key players, influencers and stakeholders are essential. You will have a proven ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively across the social, business and government sectors. An applied knowledge of philanthropic funder management and venture impact models are required for success in this role.
As a member of SVA’s team, you will collaborate with highly committed colleagues with a breadth of expertise. The focus of this role will see you forging close relationships with inspiring clients, sector leaders, colleagues and stakeholders working on society’s most important challenges.
