OUR VISION To make innovative design accessible to vulnerable communities around the world, improving their economic capacity while strengthening their social fabric. OUR MISSION To facilitate the deployment of Australian design services across a range of health and education projects in the Asia Pacific region. PROJECTS Through a range of culturally sensitive and environmentally sustainable projects, Architects without Frontiers has helped change the lives of over 3000 people in five significant ways, since 2004; 1. Delivering 39 health and education projects in 14 countries 2. Collaborating with 70 communities to improve their social and physical infrastructure 3. Partnering with 60 Australian architects in delivering pro-bono design services 4. Funding 20 projects for communities in need, in partnership with agencies such as the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, The City of Melbourne, The Northern Territory Government, ARUP, The Cotton On Foundation and RMIT University 5. Training 80 Australian architects to work in the humanitarian sector, through a series of training courses, in association with the Australian Red Cross and Australian Institute of Architects.

About the role

AWF Coordinator (Part Time)

Architects without Frontiers Australia (AWF) is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the future growth and excellence of the organisation. AWF has enjoyed a fantastic year of growth and change in 2017, mostly due to the support of our dedicated Supporter Network. We are keen to see this positive momentum maintained and increased.

The AWF Coordinator will have a large role in managing the day to day operations of the organisation along with contributing to higher level strategic planning around expanding our reach and impact. They will also provide guidance and identify challenges and opportunities to improve efficiency across the administrative support functions.

The role will report directly to the CEO and the AWF board and work closely with the Project Advisors.

KEY DUTIES

1. Planning and administration

Provide general administrative assistance to the CEO (Esther Charlesworth) and the AWF team
Maintain general oversight and ensure accuracy of compliance and governance
Be responsible for logistics and scribing of board meetings, including collation and distribution of documents
Be responsible for scheduling of weekly team meetings with CEO and project advisors, including prioritisation of activities
Assist in development of processes and tools to increase company efficiency and risk management.
2. AWF Supporter Network

Assist the CEO in maintaining and managing relationships with the supporter network, including managing supporter agreements, assisting in organising network events and maintaining communications
Identify, secure and foster new partnership opportunities in collaboration with the CEO
3. Marketing and PR:

Manage, direct and oversee social media resource to maintain positive online presence
Prepare and disseminate high quality written communication/s on social media
Co-ordinate the identification and invitation of potential future supporters of AWF
4. Grants and Fundraising

Investigate opportunities, coordinate timetabling and prepare submissions for grants and other fundraising prospects
5. Outreach to wider sector

Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders in the NGO sector
Selection Criteria

Previous experience in the not-for-profit, community and/ or humanitarian sector
Previous experience reporting to a volunteer board
Strong leadership qualities, including strategic thinking and ability to inspire others
Outstanding stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
Ability to develop and oversee coordination of complex and multiple plans and timelines
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
