About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative individual to join our team to help increase awareness of McAuley, family violence, homelessness and gender equity. You will enjoy working in a busy and diverse role.
The Community and Schools Engagement Officer is responsible for:
• engaging with various community groups and organisations raising awareness about the issues
of family violence and homelessness;
• delivering and facilitating innovated age appropriate presentations on family violence,
homelessness, gender equity or McAuley’s work, as well as working with schools/students in
relation to fundraising; and
• liaising with community groups and individuals interested in fundraising to support McAuley,
as well as identifying and developing fundraising opportunities.
The successful applicant will have:
• Experience in community education, youth advocacy or fundraising
• Ability to engage with a wide range of groups such as school students through to community
groups.
• Demonstrated ability to implement and evaluate community awareness programs.
• Demonstrated understanding of the challenges and experiences of young people, and the
structural basis of family violence and homelessness.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.

A Police Check, a Working with Children Check and a current driver’s license are mandatory. Salary to be negotiated according to skills and experience. Salary packaging is available.
