Relationships Australia offer services in various locations around Australia that includes counselling, family dispute resolution (mediation) and a range of family and community support and education programs, primarily funded by Federal, State and Territory Governments. Relationships Australia Canberra & Region (RACR) is one of the eight state and territory organisations that comprise the Relationships Australia Federation. ACT Together represents a consortium between Barnardos Australia (Barnardos) as the lead agency, and sub-contracting arrangements with Children Australia Inc (OzChild), Premier Youthworks, the Australian Childhood Foundation and Relationships Australia Canberra & Region. ACT Together consortium brings a trauma informed, integrated and coherent service response to improve outcomes for children in the Out of Home Care System and ensures that children in care, or at risk of being placed in care are safe, have the most stable home environment possible, have their best interests and specific needs at the centre of any decision-making about their care arrangements, have access to culturally safe services, have a voice in their care arrangements and have their families and carers supported.

About the role

Following two Counsellor Vacancies are available:

Counsellor, Deakin ACT (Position Ref: RACR18CDKN1)

• Part time (3-4 days per week) with Early Intervention Services Program based in Deakin, ACT.
• Required to provide therapeutic counselling services to couples, individuals, and families who are seeking improved relationships or resolution of relationship difficulties.

Therapeutic Counsellor for ACT Together service, Bruce ACT (Position Ref: RACR18TCACTDKN1)

• Part time (2.5 days per week) with ACT Together Program based in Bruce, ACT.
• Required to provide therapeutic counselling services to families, carers, kin carers, extended family members, children and young people, who are seeking improved family relationships, or resolution of family relationship difficulties.

To be successful in both roles, you are required to possess:
– An appropriate tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, counselling or other relevant field.
– Relevant experience

Salary & Benefits

The salary on offer for both positions is in the range of $74,933.07 to $79,841.62 per annum plus superannuation for full time. As a Public Benevolent Institution (PBI), RACR employees also receive tax-effective salary packaging opportunities, thus significantly increasing the value of your take-home pay.

According to the RACR Enterprise Agreement, the successful candidate will have access to generous leave provisions, annual leave loading, special paid leave during annual holiday shutdown period and flexible working arrangements.
