About the role
A SINGULAR OPPORTUNITY
This role is an exciting opportunity for an established leader in research and international development to head up IWDA’s Individual Deprivation Measure team.
The Individual Deprivation Measure (IDM) is a new, gender-sensitive and multidimensional measure of poverty developed to assess deprivation at the individual level and address limitations of current approaches that measure poverty at the household level.
The IDM program is being implemented through a partnership between IWDA, the Australian National University (ANU) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The Director, IWDA Individual Deprivation Measure Team, will be accountable for implementing the IDM program, contributing to systemic change through readying the IDM for global use as a tool for revealing who is poor in what ways and to what extent, and informing and tracking the impact of policy and programming.
The incumbent will lead the IDM team to promote and develop the sustainability of this new measure, and grow IWDA’s influence, profile and reach as an organisation committed to transformative change.
WHY YOU WILL EXCEL
You are a highly skilled leader with senior level experience in research management and international development.
Your relationship building skills are exceptional and you bring established networks in academic, NGO and government arenas.
You are a dynamic team leader who works collaboratively to leverage the skills and experience of your team.
You are a passionate advocate for gender equality and the power of data to drive positive change.
The full selection criteria are listed in the Position Description.
