About the Role
Location: Sydney CBD
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that the accounts payable at knowmore are processed promptly, efficiency and accurately. This will involve the collection of invoices, engaging relevant stakeholders for approval, data entry into Xero and preparing payments via our online banking portal;
Maintain all accounting records in accordance to industry standards and internal practices;
Collate approved timesheets, leave forms and claims for allowances in order to accurately process payroll and claims and ensure that all payroll records are filed and up to date;
Assist the Finance Manager in preparation of budgets and periodic reports (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly) as required;
Act in the position of the Finance Manager during extended periods of leave;
If/when available, assist in undertaking such other administrative financial tasks as may be delegated by the Finance Manager or the General Manager; and
Any other reasonable projects as directed.
Skills, knowledge and attributes:
Maintain a flexible collegial and professional approach to working within a multi-disciplinary team;
Ensure skills in using the Xero Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel are current;
Demonstrated ability to work independently and also as a positive contributing team member;
Maintain very high attention to detail and maintenance of records, and accurate data entry;
Familiarity with standards and expectations of government grants and accountability requirements;
Maintain high standard of discretion in handling sensitive information;
Show flexibility and the capacity to exercise creative solutions to improve effectiveness of service delivery for clients within legislative requirements and NACLC requirements.
About the Organisation
Organisation Name : Knowmore Legal Service
Knowmore was established in 2013 as an independent service to give free legal advice and information to people on the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Whilst the Royal Commission has recently come to a close, knowmore will continue to assist survivors of child sexual abuse by providing them with information and advice about the justice or redress options that may be available to them.
We are looking for a diligent and flexible candidate to join our team and hit the ground running. This is a maternity leave contract ending on 30 June 2018, with possible extension pending on future funding and organisational needs.
