About the organisation

Organisation Name : Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Australia
Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell Australia (TASCA) is a Melbourne-based, not-for-profit organisation seeking to promote and support the welfare of Australians affected by genetically acquired haemoglobinopathies (predominantly those with thalassaemia and sickle cell disease). It also seeks to educate and raise awareness of these conditions amongst the wider Australian community. TASCA operations are primarily Victoria-focused, however, services extend to the rest of Australia wherever possible (with the exception of NSW).

About the role

This is an exciting and challenging role and an opportunity to contribute to making a real difference in the lives of haemoglobinopathy patients as well as amongst the wider Australian community. You will be responsible for gaining financial support for TASCA to achieve its aim to holistically support haemoglobinopathy patients and raise awareness of the conditions. You will also maintain and foster strategic relationships with TASCA’s stakeholders.

Working independently or cohesively alongside the Committee of Management, you will identify and secure funding and fundraising opportunities. You will also evaluate opportunities for partnership, sponsorship and advertising in order to establish and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders and other key organisations.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:
– Experience in acting as an organisational spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
– Understanding of procurement or grants structures and processes of the Australian Government, public service, and/or other international organisations
– Demonstrated ability to design and execute successful public relations campaigns at both local and national levels
– Demonstrated high-level verbal and interpersonal skills
– High attention to detail
